Create your Own Social Media Post
In this scenario, you are the social media producer in your newsroom. Your editor has just assigned you to create a post that highlights news coverage of the Watergate era. You may choose to write your post about the investigative coverage of Woodward or Bernstein, the Senate hearings, protests over President Nixon’s resignation, or another aspect, as long as it involves how journalists reported on Watergate.
Directions
- Choose one of the images from the carousel you’d like to feature by clicking on “Select Image.” Be creative as to how you tie it to your post.
- Create your entry on journalism’s role during the Watergate affair. You may want to conduct some additional online research on websites your class has used or your teacher recommends.
- Then “post” comments in response to the initial entry. Practice digital citizenship (appropriate and responsible use of technology) by creating accurate and thoughtful posts and comments. Keep in mind that thoughtful social media posts will engage readers.
